A race and a hug

On our way to church Sunday morning, Marion beat Emma to the corner which made Emma come back for a hug. Goy stepped in and walked Emma all the way to the car. Marion took the moment to enjoy a bird that was flying close by.

Grampa & Gramma

Grampa and Gramma came to visit. We had a lot of fun playing games, bowling, eating ice cream, BBQing and even a morning of swimming. We also got to enjoy dinner with all our friends and played in the store while waiting for our table.

When?

When did he get big enough to lift the heavy dinner pot?  When did he get big enough to clear the table?

I mean it, that pan was heavy!!!!

He is growing up on me way too fast, yet he is the first to snuggle, hug, and randomly say "I love you Momma"

And he still wants to be my cuddle bug!

Can someone slow down the clock?

A Momma Day

With an interesting start to the day, Momma gave up hoping for a family fun evening for her birthday. But friends surprised us for lunch and Emma's tummy settled, daddy ate lunch at the picnic bench so we could play outside, then we worked on things for the grandmas and great grandmas, and threw in some sweet self thought out paintings for Momma.

(- momma note: when Goy heard why we were crafting, he asked why I wasn't having him make one for me since I'm momma. I told him daddy could help him so it could be a surprise. He immediately got out paper and painted me a picture and said, "here momma, I made it for you because you take care of me and I love you.")

Daddy took us out for dinner and us guys got hair cuts while the girls went fabric shopping and then it was donuts instead of birthday cake so momma didn't have to bake.

We all sang loud for momma and made her feel loved.

Momma couldn't have asked for a better day.

4/20/2014 -- Happy Easter

The kids got to go through their baskets(buckets) first thing.

From Grampa and Gramma they got gardening buckets with vegetable planters and seeds, and of course, chocolate bunnies, gold fish, fruit snacks and glow sticks - and a fun magnadoodle too.

From Daddy and Momma they got cleaning buckets with a few extras.  They were so excited to start planting food and cleaning the house.  Goy got started cleaning before church.

After buckets, we made resurrection rolls.  No pictures of this because it was an all hands on deck project, but it really helped drive the message of the resurrection home.

Then they hunted for eggs. These eggs were empty except for 12 we would open at dinner (ham and potatoes) to teach the resurrection story.  Goy made sure his sisters had eggs in their bucket too.  He would alternate, an egg for Emma, one for Marion then one for himself.  He ended up with the least because the girls found some on their own, but he didn't care, he just wanted to have fun and make sure they were having fun too.

Then it was time to get everyone ready for church.  We didn't have time before church for a picture, so they are a bit disheveled after lunch with friends.  But they had so much fun this Easter and even prayed a prayer of thanks for Christ's sacrifice and resurrection, without any prompting.

I think we have our new Easter traditions.  But next year we might dye some real eggs or make some fun dyed deviled eggs.

There were so many sweet moments to the day that we didn't capture on film, but we will keep the memories for years!

Happy pre-Easter (or Easter Eve)

I sit here tonight pondering random things and wanted to share a sweet picture of my babies before they get all dressed up in the morning and look so grown up.

May your Easter reflect on the beauty of Christ's  resurrection and awesome power of our All Mighty Heavenly Father.

God Bless you and check back tomorrow night for our Easter update.

Love - their Momma
